For younger players, attending a summer camp is a great way to devote attention to skill development. Below is some information on camps that the Richmond Shock has had experience with and endorse:
For those players that are looking for a summer lacrosse camp to work on their lacrosse skills we recommend the Lacrosse Performance Camps run by Ray Rostan, Head coach at Hampden-Sydney College. Coach Rostan has designed this camp to assist players in developing their overall lacrosse skills. This camp has been developed and designed through over 30 years of coaching experience. The camp staff is made up former college all Americans and current college players. More details can be found at www.lacrosseperformanceschool.com or you can download an informational flyer here.
Coach Mike Plantholt at Randolph-Macon College also runs a quality camp. His camp is designed to make you a better lacrosse player. Their experienced staff will not only work to improve a player's current skills, but they will also introduce him to many of the drills and concepts they use to develop players at Randolph-Macon. Campers will be divided by age and skill level to ensure that each camper receives a maximum amount of individualized attention from the camp staff. You can download an informational flyer here.
The United States Naval Academy runs a series of quality lacrosse camps. Information on their offerings, which include camps held around the country and those held on the academy grounds in Annapolis, MD, can be found here.
